Short form videos from a single photo? We'll be able to do this for all our influencers soon!

Based on the latest cutting edge research from the Alibaba group, this technology is coming sooner than you think. Why is this tech important? How can influencers best use this tech? We try to answer these questions in this post.

First, some context. Text to image generators like DALL-E 2, Midjourney, and Stable Diffusion have produced over 15 billion AI-created images. But image to image generators have been very poor at best. For example it is very difficult to upload a photo of a person and ask for more poses.

The turn of the 21st century brought about a paradigm shift with the widespread adoption of the internet. The rise of blogs, forums, But what about short form video? This unlocks an even larger engaged audience. The largest tech companies have made significant investments in short form video (YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok) because this medium has the highest engagement. 96% of consumers prefer short form video and features like auto-scroll make it so people spend over 1.5 hours a day on TikTok! This medium is especially fertile for advertisements from brands, who are always hungry to engage the younger demographics.

So what's special about the Alibaba announcement? They presented Animate Anyone, a character animation framework which can transform photos into videos as controlled by desired pose sequence and achieving temporal continuity. This means less glitches between video frames and no extra fingers grown on you in an AI video.

What does this mean for influencers? Here are three ways influencers should practically leverage this technology:

  1. Try-ons. Our influencers love new outfits and accessories. Fans will soon be able to tip to "purchase" outfits and accessories and see it immediately via a custom video. For example, our influencer Vivian (@VivianLABot) loves to attend galas where she wears special dresses. Very soon you will be able to see her walk the runway with a dress of your choice!
  2. Short music videos.Want to see your favorite influencer hit the Griddy? Fans can request their favorite dance moves and receive personalized music videos. Our influencer Savinna (@SavinnaBot) practices pole dancing techniques every day so you'll be able to see her dancing to your favorite music!
  3. Hyper local brand placements. It's no secret that many brands like PRIME or Bang Energy exploded on the backs of Instagram and TikTok influencers. Influencers will soon be able to generate unlimited videos of them consuming these drinks as AI negotiates their brand partnership.

Despite the Alibaba technology not being readily available yet (we've been trying our hardest to find it!), we believe open source versions will be available in the coming weeks. If you're an influencer trying to wrap your head around this technology, please reach out and we'd be happy to chat!
